Emerging Evidence

We started the our new diet programme for the management of diabetes mellitus and other metabolic syndrome disorders in January 2006. Since then, a number of published studies have clearly shown that the metabolic syndrome disorders are essentially related to the foods that we eat and that these can be rectified by changing the way we eat. On the other, several reports have also revealed serious adverse effects of many of the drugs that are being used to ‘treat’ these metabolic syndrome disorders: diabetes from cholesterol lowering statins, the ban on anti-diabetic rosiglitazone, withdrawal of the anti-obesity drug sibutramine, etc.[See] At Spandana Center for Metabolic Medicine, these drugs never had to be prescribed and these new reports further vindicate our approach.
